HIGHLIGHTS

As of the publication date, 357 UK M&A deals were announced in May 2026. In addition to the most up-to-date figure at the time of publication, we also report an estimated total for the month, which includes a provision for deals completed during the month but not reported until after the report cut-off date.

DEAL COMMENTARY

The largest deal was Vodafone’s buyout of CK Hutchinson Group Telecom in VodafoneThree for £13.85 billion.

SPOTLIGHT TRANSACTIONS

Other deals during May included:

• Johnson Matthey’s acquisition of Cormetech for £269 million.
• Centrica’s acquisition Calon Energy Group’s Severn Combined-Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station for £370 million.
• Integrated Media Company’s acquisition of Playstack for £125 million.

The smaller end of the market witnessed the following deals:

• Computacenter’s acquisition of Government Acquisitions Inc for £50 million.
• discoverIE Group’s majority acquisition of 3Gmetalworx for £50 million.
• Intuitive Machines’ acquisition of Goonhilly Earth Station for £37 million.
