HIGHLIGHTS

There was an increase in the number of deals completed in July, compared to previous months.

DEAL COMMENTARY

The largest deal in July was KKR and Carlyle’s acquisition of Discover Bank’s private student loan portfolio for £8.3bn

SPOTLIGHT TRANSACTIONS

Other deals during July included:

• Malvern Panalytical’s acquisition of Micromeritics Instrument Corporation for $630 million.
• Exponent Private Equity’s acquisition of Kingsbridge Healthcare for £300 million.
• ChampionX’s acquisition of RMSpumptools for £90 million.

The smaller end of the market witnessed the following deals:

• ITV Studios’ acquisition of a 51% stake in Hartswood Films for £26 million.
• Gamma Communications’ acquisition of BrightCloud Group for £13 million.
